Time-autonomy and time-controllability of discrete multidimensional behaviours

چکیده
Predecessors and starting point of the present paper on multidimensional discrete time-autonomy and time-controllability were three papers from 2002-2004 by Sasane, Controneo, Thomas and Willems on the continuous case, a paper from 2011 by Napp, Rapisarda and Rocha on time-relevant 2D-behaviors and a submitted paper by Bisiacco and Valcher on 2D-time-controllability and dead-beat control. We also acknowledge interesting talks on this subject by Bisiacco and Valcher in Innsbruck. We develop a general framework for discrete multidimensional behaviors in which the discrete time variable in N plays a special part among all independent variables. Following the models of our predecessors we define time-autonomy and time-controllability of a behavior by properties of its trajectories. Goal of the paper is the characterization of these properties by constructive algebraic conditions which is fully achieved for time-autonomy and for timecontrollability in dimension two and partially for time-controllability in higher dimensions than two. A Behavioral Approach to Time-Varying Linear Systems. Part 1: General Theory
We develop a behavioural approach to linear, time-varying, differential-algebraic systems. The analysis is “almost everywhere” in the sense that the statements hold on R \ T, where T is a discrete set. Controllability, observability and autonomy is introduced and related to the behaviour of the system. Classical results on the behaviour of time-invariant systems are studied in the context of ti...
متن کاملApplication of Discrete 3-level Nested Logit Model in Travel Demand Forecasting as an Alternative to Traditional 4-Step Model
This paper aims to introduce a new modelling approach that represents departure time, destination and travel mode choice under a unified framework. Through it, it is possible to overcome shortages of the traditional 4-step model associated with the lack of introducing actual travellers’ behaviours. This objective can be achieved through adopting discrete 3-level Nested Logit model that represen...
متن کاملAn Algebraic Analysis Approach to Linear Time-varying Behaviors
This paper introduces an algebraic analysis approach to time-varying systems given by linear ordinary differential equations with meromorphic coefficients. The analysis is carried out in a generic sense, i.e., the signals are considered to be smooth except for a discrete set of possible singularities. The algebra is based on a normal form for matrices over the resulting ring of differential ope...
متن کاملThe controllability of cardiac rhythm in elderly
Introduction: Recent reports have shown that rare fluctuations in cardiac cycles are ‘forgotten’ quickly in healthy individuals and it is possible to quantify the “memory length” of a physiological time-series using an inverse statistical approach. Methods: In the present study, we assessed the effect of aging on memory length in cardiac rhythm. Results: There was a long...
متن کاملOn Controllability and Near-controllability of Multi-input Discrete-time Bilinear Systems in Dimension Two
This paper completely solves the controllability problems of two-dimensional multi-input discrete-time bilinear systems with and without drift. Necessary and sufficient conditions for controllability, which cover the existing results, are obtained by using an algebraic method. Furthermore, for the uncontrollable systems, near-controllability is studied and necessary and sufficient conditions fo...
